What MBA applicants have in common with Members of the U.S. Congress
Applying to business school?
Well, you have more in common with members of Congress than you may realize.
That’s because each politician has to run a strategic campaign to get elected to public office.
It’s really no different than being an MBA candidate.
That’s right.
You’re “campaigning” to earn a seat in the program just like a political candidate runs a smart campaign to get elected.
Think about:
1) What’s your persuasive messaging?
2) What is your platform?
3) Why are you better than another “candidate” for that one seat?
And remember my (slightly) modified words of the 35th U.S. President as you embark on a strategic campaign to get accepted by the school of your dreams.
“Ask not what the program can do for you~ask what you can do for the program.”
